I'm a lifelong Chicagoan, with a terrific wife of 30 years and three grown kids - two at our house - who are all working and hitting their stride. I'm a counselor, employee assistance professional, and manager at a firm (Perspectives, Ltd / Guru to You) that works with companies and non-profit organizations of all sizes and kinds, helping their employees and their families with counseling and wellness services. I'm also a guitar player who's learning the fiddle, and look forward to playing old-timey music for fun.

While I think people are looking for connection, meaning, and transcendence in their lives, I'm also a fairly down-to-earth person who still has to do laundry and clean up after the dogs. I seem to have inherited a pragmatic Irish-American outlook that Whomever Out There helps those who help themselves.
